Meet Our Neighbors: Cotton Bar

Meet Our Neighbors: Cotton Bar

This is not your average bar.  In fact, it's not a bar at all.  Meet Our Neighbors Cotton Bar!  Walk into this welcoming space and you'll never want to leave. That was the goal Reid Fogleman had in mind when he was deciding on a name for his branding and logo business.  Cotton Bar strives to connect people and communities through the stories that they infuse into their clothing.

Meet Our Neighbors: Pinetop Distillery

Meet Our Neighbors: Pinetop Distillery

A little over three years ago a group of friends decided to partner together to give Raleigh its own hand-crafted spirit.  From there, Pinetop Distillery was born.  Although Pinetop is small scale, they pack a big punch.  While continuing to work their day jobs, the team has combined their efforts to create hand-crafted spirits that maintain the integrity of the land, celebrate the ingenuity of local farmers, and provide an authentic taste that is true to North Carolina.

Meet Our Neighbors: Glas

Meet Our Neighbors: Glas

Thirty-four years ago Nate Shaeffer started blowing glass.  When he graduated from college in 1986, he opened up a Neon Shop. What started small, quickly escalated into a huge production. "We did tens of thousands of beer signs and all of the coca-cola signs for a significant part of Europe for years. By 1997 I had twenty four glass blowers." A collapse in the market due to offshore competition forced Nate to take a step back. "It was a good time for me to get out and be with my kids as a stay-at-home dad."  But Nate wasn't done yet. He couldn't stop making things.  What started back as as a small studio in his house, is now an inviting shop right in the heart of Dock 1053 called Glas.  "I may have worn this statement out in the last two years, but I still have my feet on the brakes because we're just reacting to clients coming in."
